Default moving to Cranston

I will be moving to the Cranston area and I wonder if anyone can tell me about the city and where are the best area to rent. Is renting in MA will be cheaper? Ideally I would like to rent an appt in a privet home.
Thank you.

Cranston is a cool town. Western Cranston is suburban/rural and Eastern Cranston (closer to Providence) is suburban to slightly urban. Two places jump out that are nice with a a bunch of rentals. Edgewood (section of eastern cranston near the bay) and Meshanticut (a section of western cranston). Lots of well kept, big, old homes in this part of town. Rent in Mass is going to be, most likely, higher.

I rented a great house in a part of Cranston called Pawtuxet Village. This is a very charming area with views of the bay, shops you can walk to yet not far to the freeway. I preferred living in Providence, but if you're looking for a quiet, charming area then consider Pawtuxet in Cranston (around Broad St. and Post Rd.)

Great, thanks for the information. How did you find the rental home? Did you go through an agent, or the local papers?

I would check craigslist. Projo.com is ok, but craigslist rhode island is a great place to look.
