You are wrong on that mp775, sorry to say. There is a lot of diversity in Barrington, you just don't see it on a day to day basis. One of the Catholic schools in Barrington, in particular, has poor kids who go there for no tuition.
The OP is specifically interested in public schools. Bristol County public schools are 94 percent white non-Hispanic.
The OP said she wants schools with cultural and economic diversity. Barrington or East Greenwich isn't going to cut it. As far as "rolling the dice," I think you fail to understand the definition of averages. I've known dumb kids who were the product of Barrington schools and brilliant graduates of Providence (not Classical), Pawtucket, and Central Falls schools. Plus the culture at Barrington High leaves something to be desired, with all the "hosting" problems coming out of that community...
So you didn't say any of the above. Spare me. You don't know squat about Barrington unless you actually live there. So you live in Barrington? Congratulations.

I don't know what the "hosting" problems are. Can you please explain that for those of us who don't know? This may benefit the OP.
I posted this in another thread, but I think it's pretty relevant for you.
Rhode Island public schools (except for Barrington and East Greenwich) are not very good, the performance is especially poor when you consider that many RI suburban districts are heavily majority non-Hispanic white. Yes there are some new Hispanic immigrants, but we're not talking Chicago or LA here, whites are still vast majority in this state. Even the best district in RI, Barrington (population of just 16,000 total), has an SAT average of just 573 verbal and 588 math. And this is a very exclusive and snooty town where 95% of its residents are white AND white collar. Meanwhile Lexington MA is 625 and 656, and Newton MA is 604 and 633.
Cranston East only got 481 and 486. Cranston West is 486 and 488. Pawtucket Tolman is 426 and 424. Nearby Seekonk MA (a ho-hum school district in MA) can manage to pull 527 and 532. That's a 300 point difference tallied up on the SATs between neighbors Pawtucket and Seekonk. Not a trivial difference.
Rhode Island statewide SAT average is only 483 and 484 (national is 497 and 513), while Massachusetts does significantly better (507 and 523) and we're including Dorchester, Lawrence, Worcester, Springfield and the Berkshires.
