Default Best place to get married in Rhode Island ?

I got engaged in October and we would like to elope to New England in 2009 ,as it is one of our favourite places on earth.

I would be really grateful for any suggestions for wonderful places to Wed, ideally a really pretty village or town which would look stunning in October, with a really good and very special restaurant for a wedding lunch/dinner and Inn to stay in.

I am starting to get ideas from Friends and on the Net but would appreciate as many suggestions as possible.
Thank you for your help

Well, it appears New England is wide open!

If I were to get married in Rhode Island, I might select Castle Hill or the Pavilion in Roger Williams Park (Providence).

I celebrated my 40th birthday at Castle Hill, a summer birthday and it was glorious. And Newport in the Spring is wonderful.

The Park, too, has a lovely feeling to it, although it is urban and fewer places to put up guests in the City. However, there is something about a city park that appeals to me.

Whichever state within New England you select, you'll be sure to have a wonderful wedding.

Again congratulations!

Bristol, Rhode Island is one of the most charming and picturesque places in the state. see: http://www.discoverbristol.com/

The harbor is especially lovely in early October fall when the leaves turn. Avoid 4th of July, however: Bristol boasts the oldest Independence Day parade in the U.S. and the city is completely gridlocked for the annual holiday.

My Wife and I eloped in RI when we were living in Boston. We went to The City of Providence and were wed by the Chief Judge of The Family Court.

If you want picturesque, Roger Williams Park in Providence is nice and Bristol is also nice and very historic....but if you want different i would suggest Jamestown, a quaint little beach town near Newport and you could have photos taken at the lighthouse at Beavertail.

All the best to you and I do hope you enjoy your upcoming wedding and honeymoon here in The U.S. We are pretty much
Brit friendly"....

It's impossible to pick just one spot, but while in RI recently I came across a wedding at Smith's Castle, just north of Wickford, a charming little seaside village. It's a lovely location.
