Default Considering move to Providence

I am considering a move to Providence. I would be new to the New England area and the draw to Providence is the artsy scene and lower cost of living than that of Boston or New York. My concern is finding a good job. I work in the Hospitality Industry and do not have any connections in that area as of yet. Would I struggle to find even an entry level position?? Thanks for the help!!

There are lots of trendy restaurants in the area, and news reports indicate a number of new mid-level hotels are expected to open in Providence in the next few years. But the RI job market is tough; I would suggest hitting the streets for a job BEFORE moving.

Agreed, job market is tight. I like Providence compared to Boston and especially compared to NYC. It is a nice size. I think you'll find something in hospitality. Check this out and projo.com/jobs.

Easy to get around. Renting, I suppose is high but the as motto goes, you get what you pay for, just smooth talk to owners. Rhode Islanders don't go outside the given rectangular box and I don't feel bad in nice weather cause nothing beats there ocean fronts. Many spots to fall in love with.
