$250-ish may not get you much; surely not in Lincoln or Cumberland where I lived for about 40 years. Lots of compromises will have to be made. Remember to factor in the property taxes in your budget and monthly bottom line. Best wishes.

Thanks. I was up in Lincoln and Cumberland today. While I loved Lincoln Woods State Park and already have plans to visit again next week, I didn't see anything there that would prompt me to want to live in the area. Sure the homes looked picture perfect, but I'm looking for community as well as a home, and am willing to make some tradeoffs to get that. I know 250k won't be buying any McMansions, and I'm good with that. Still, the park is phenomenal.

It's definitely a beautiful area over there, and over by the Warwick City Park, where we've taken our dog a few times. The schools seem to be on par with East Providence. But otherwise, maybe that part of Warwick warrants a second look.
