Hunter's Crossing in Coventry IS a nice area, if you stay off the main street through.. The side roads such as Remington Drive are nicer. There is another plat that is off of Station Street that has more upscale homes, built further apart. Sweetwater area ( off Colvintown Rd) is nice because because it is a little older, but the houses are all mostly updated... and the trees and shrubs etc are all mature now, not so much bareness as in Hunter's Crossing. I've lived here since 1983, and raised 5 children here. House values are more affordable now that the real estate prices have dropped. Houses that used to sell for $325-350,000 and up a year ago are now selling for $250,000. Yes Coventry has a separate fire tax, to subsidize the rescues and fire fighters, but mine is only about $500 a year, and it's based on home value as well. The more expensive your valuation, the higher your fire tax. My house is valued at 335,000 and my fire tax is $500 for the year, my RE taxes run about $450 a month. The neighborhood is decent, not many problems at all, and my neighbors and I watch out for each other.

My understanding was that the neighborhood association lapsed, never a good thing, can you speak to that,it does have an effect on RE values if common areas are allowed to decline,as well as liability issues.I recieved that information from a former resident,so don't rip my head off!

I grew up in Rhode Island and I would have to say Bristol is one of the best towns for children to grow up in. I have family up there and not much has changed since I been gone.
