Parts of Warwick are very nice - will you be renting or buying? The Cowesett area of Warwick has lovely neighborhoods, also some off of Warwick Ave - Governor Francis Farm, Gaspee Plateau. The are some nice apartment complexes around as well. Also remember that RI is so small, you don't need to live in Warwick. you could also look into Cranston, North Kingstown, East Greenwich and still be within a 15 min. commute.

East Greenwich is close to Warwick and is considered by many to be one of the top two communities (Barrington being the other). A little further south is North Kingstown, more rural but also a nice place. West Warwick is generally not considered especially desirable. Same goes for Johnston, home of the state landfill.

Rainy compared to some places in the U.S., but not as much as Portland, OR. The weather is very seasonal: Southern New England gets all four of 'em (though spring tends to be short).

Coventry Rose is on a distinguished road
If you are looking for more of a country setting Coventry is very nice. Also, West Greenwich has lots of land but small population (less than 6,000).

Default Hope Valley is nice too.

Hope Valley is a nice small town near the RI Connecticut border and its less than half hour to Warwick. We live in a nice townhouse community right at exit 2 on RT95 and there are several for sale including ours.

Rhode Island can be pretty rainy. Usually we don't go a week without at least a little rain. It was rainy from about 9/25 through 10/6. Weather is a touchy area for me, I'm definetly desert bound. I have a close friend who's wife comes from Washington and she states there is a lot more overcast with drizzle in Washington, but not as much snow unless comparing it to eastern Washington.
