Hey everyone, I'm taking a random trip to Providence, RI for 3 days early next month. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations as to any good local restaurants or things to do. I'm a working professional who just wants to explore the city and see what it has to offer. Thanks!
I'm visiting a Sunday though Tuesday. I'm big on Italian food, chicken, meats, etc. Event-wise: I like anything outdoors, enjoy music, parks.
Be sure to go to 'Federal Hill'. The best Italian food around. Visit Venda Ravioli on the hill. OMG --- True Italian. Plus there are others. If Capriccio's is open, another must. The Old Canteen …. another one. I could go on but I'm getting hungry and am too far away.
If weather is good, suggest taking the ferry to Newport for lunch/walk. Arrive few minutes early to ensure a seat on top of the ferry. Or rent a bike and ride down east bay bike trail, goes all the way to Colt St Park in Bristol if you have energy. Nice trail gives insight into why many of us love RI. Find some Portuguese stew in E. Providence
