If you like a thick hunk of dough with a thin layer of tomato sauce, then it's Caserta's all the way.

If you like a thin crust with layers of flavorful toppings, try House of Pizza on Division Street in Pawtucket. They are Greek, but I don't know if that is "Greek-style" pizza, I only know that it is FANTASTIC!

They make excellent pizza.

But..... on the other end of Spruce st. is Bob and Timmy's....Their grilled pizza is out of this world.

Can't go wrong with either one IMO... but I could eat that whole grilled pizza by myself.

A friend and myself went to that place once last summer, and we did not find anything enjoyable there except the beer! And the pizza was so lousy to boot!

The crust was way too thick like biscuit or shortbread dough and the toppings are very blasted limited to only about a few. The only thing good there was the beer!! We both took about two bites of that pizza, didn't like it at all, got up and left it on the table.

The better places to go for really good pizza are Sicillia's on Atwells Ave., Chicago Uno Pizzairia on the street level of the Providence Place Mall ( we just has delicious pizza there this past Friday Evening), and Pizza Queen.

I kid you not, those are three of the best places to go for real authentic great-tasting thin-crust pizza! Sicillia's is Italian, Uno's is Chicagoan and Pizza Queen is Greek.

Gourmet Take & Bake on hope street next to tortilla flat and across from hope high school is excellent! However apperently its the only pizza that providence cops eat because they are ALWAYS there.

I always order my pizza, go next door for a margarita and then pick up my pizza when i'm done!

Being in RI, no, it's not up there. But if you were from out of town and that's the pizza you got -- you might think it's pretty good.

It's one of those "last resort" places. Nothing else around...you're starving...and there's a Papa Gino's.

It won't kill you.

How does pizza in Providence compare to what you'd find in NYC or New Haven?

"Rhode Island pizza" is delicious -- I'm eating "pizza strips" right now. It's not the way Italians do pizza... Been there, done that. Different animal. This is the way Rhode Islanders do pizza. It's not just like any other pizzeria making a pizza without the cheese... you don't get the feeling anything is missing because the dough and the sauce have so much flavor. Eat it hot or cold!!
