Default What is the best neighborhood to live in?

Hi,
I am moving with my boyfriend in July to Providence. I know nothing about the neighborhoods. What is the nicest/best neigborhood to live in regarless of price? We don't have any kids (we're 30 y.o) and the most important factor to us is safety. THANKS! P.S. does anyone know anything about the Prominade Apartments at the Foundary? Would that be a good location?

The best neighborhood in Providence is called the East Side. It has been discussed in the RI forum before so do a search of the forum for it. Also, if you Google the web for "Promenade Apartments reviews", you'll be able to read reviews and see that it gets a 50% approval rating. Of course, people who don't like a place are probably more apt to review & complain. The Promenade is in a restored factory area almost downtown- I wouldn't say the area ranks 100% for safety. The best apt complex downtown is probably Center Place. Are you sure you want to live downtown? There are plenty of other options..... Much East side housing is in the form of multifamily dwellings many now made into condos. I see a lot of "for rent" signs so I would say the rental market is soft.
