Spanish language studies for little kids ANYWHERE in RI
My son is about to finish his first year of Spanish Immersion kindergarten. The class is amazing, they're doing sooo good. Their fluency and language skills are amazing and I don't want him to lose this. We have to move (via the Navy) to the Newport, RI area.
Does anyone know of any school or outside activity that is Spanish language related?
I don't care where it is in RI. I'm down with driving distances.
If anyone has some info, please let me know!

Good luck. We moved here after having Spanish taught in the schools all during elementary. I have not seen it offered in the younger grades unless you pay for it as an after school class taught by a parent. Even my middle schooler is not offered this! Just curious, but are you moving to RI from VA?

Hi there,
I am not sure if you are still looking for Spanish classes for your child. If so, I was also looking into getting my son into some sort of spanish lessons or classes. I came across Small Talk Language Acadamy. Teaching kids from ages 6mo - 9 yrs. Right now they have classes at two different locations in Providence but it looks like they have a couple different locations coming soon that may be closer to you... They have a great website also, a facebook page that I am sure will be helpful to you.

I know Alfred Lima Elementary in Providence is a charter school and they have this dual-language program, where they don't just have like a class to LEARN spanish. What they do is every quarter each class switches between two teachers. One teacher teaches every subject (math, social studies, etc.) 100% in Spanish, then the next quarter, they continue the same curriculum, but it is fully in English. This rotation goes on for the entire school year. I'm not sure if this school still has this program, but my nephew went to this school about 5 years ago, so I wouldn't see why the program is no longer there.
