Restaurants in Cranston?
I was wondering if anybody can help me. I'm looking for Italian (not just pizza) or steakhouse/seafood restaurants in Cranston, that are good and busy all the time. Also, ones that are not to cheap, but it doesnt have to be 5 star either? I would appreciate anybody's input.

Hi there,
My favorite restaurant of all time is Marchetti's in Cranston. They are on Park Ave. (off of Reservoir Ave.) and I think they are outstanding! I've been many times and the food is fantastic, not too expensive, and well worth every penny because they give you enormous portions!! I ALWAYS take home leftovers. It's not too fancy, but it's not low class either, it's kind of a happy medium place. The Calamari Alla Mama is fabulous, the house dressing on the salad is great, wow, I just can't say enough about Marchetti's...in fact, I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!! Good Luck! If you try it, I hope you like it there as much as I do!
Also, Luigi's in Johnston (Hartford Ave. I believe) is great too....and not too far from Cranston....

I really dislike Marchetti's....the food is very mediocre, the main reason people like it so much is that the portions are huge. If you're looking for something a bit more upscale with a good variety of Italian choices, I suggest Cafe Itri, right around the corner from Marchetti's. I agree that Luigi's is good.

Thanks guys, I'm going to check out Marchetti's. I'm actually looking for restaurants in Cranston for a Job. I just don't want to have to work 7 days a week to earn the money I need for rent & bills...(I moved to RI to play not work everyday .) Is there any steak & seafood or real expensive Italian places?

Well, of course there is Twin Oaks, but they are staffed by long term tradition of "who you know". Paparazzi in Garden City is a busy Italian Restaurant. Ted's Montana Grill is also a busy place. Chello's on Reservoir Ave has a constant flow, but they are not a high price restaurant. While there are quite a few places to eat in Cranston the majority are small Mom and Pop.
Marchetti's and Mike's Kitchen at Atwood and Randall are the best Italian eateries. Mike's is opened 3-4 days a week, but it is hopping from opening to closing. Texas Roadhouse is the only "Steak" place I know.

Mike's Kitchen (in the VFW) is cheap and excellent Italian food in Cranston.
I'm also going to suggest El Tapito (Mexican) and Haruki's (Sushi/Japanese) in Cranston....yum.
Hope this helps Sue!

Antonio's on the corner of Park Ave and Cranston St is my favorite. I didn't like Marchetti's too much when I went there a few years ago. One of the more surpisingly good places is the VFW post off of Atwood Ave, that place has great food!
