Default Working in Smithfield RI

Hi All,

I live in Norwood, MA..Now my work location is being moved to Smithfield.
I see that my new office location is around 40 miles from home now. To drive everyday to work with the soaring gas prices does not sound viable for me.
I am just wondering what is the best commuting option to work?
It was pretty easy earlier to go to Boston Downtown (my old workplace) by commuter rail.

Please advise.

I think your best option is driving since the MBTA only goes a little south of Franklin. The problem is that then, you'd have to get between there and Smithfield. Or you could take the MBTA into Providence and take a RIPTA bus to Smithfield. That would take so long I'd drive if I were you!

Or, consider moving closer in to work.

There really is no great option. You'll most likely have to drive, as nothing goes that way. It should only be about a 30 min drive, all highway. Depending where in Smithfield, you may be able to take a train into Prov and then a bus to work... but I doubt many buses will get you close in Smithfield.

Smithfield is one of the better cities in RI, I have lived her for 5 years and LOVE it here. Everything is here, the schools are GREAT!
