Default identifiable landmarks at Roger Williams park

Hey there. I am still a bit new to town, and I am organizing a gathering of a few people (also new to the city) on a Sunday at 4 p.m. somewhere outside. I know the visitor center at Roger Williams Park closes at 4:30 but does the park remain open after that?

Also I am looking for a good meeting spot. Someplace really obvious and closeish to the entrance (around where the Elmwood bus lets you off)--but a nice spot for a mellow sit down conversation. I was thinking somewhere near the Botanical Gardens...how far from the entrance is that? Or does somebody have a better idea for a spot.

Otherwise I was thinking India point...or any other suggestions are appreciated. A cafe with a deck that is not too noisy perhaps..

Thanks in advance for your response.
