^That's a good point. I wouldn't either. I was just thinking that if someone HAD to commute from Cumberland to Newport, that's how they would do it.

I don't think either of those commutes are do-able. Foxboro/Mansfield area might be a tad better, but still not something I'd consider doing long-term. Sudbury is a loooooong haul. 128 is horrible traffic. And I don't know of any van pools from Cumberland at all. Newport is a tough drive too. It'd be easier to go to Boston - there's a train going there.

There really isn't any easy way.

Mansfield would probably be the best bet. It's a very nice community...the drive down to the base will take 1:30 in the morning with traffic coming on to the island. Allow more time for inclement weather. Both the West Main Road and the East Main Road on Aquidneck Island are very slow during rush hours. However, if your day were to start and end earlier (say 7a-3P) that would be a blessing.
