Default Inexpensive place to stay on Block Island

I’m looking for an inexpensive but clean hotel, Inn B&B etc… on Block Island that's close to all? Does anyone know of a place that would be good to stay for a weekend getaway? Also, I’d like to ride my bike around the Island. Is there any specific route to take that would be better than others? I’m planning on going the first weekend in September.

You don't give your definition of cheap, but hotels there are upwards of $100 to several hundred per night. As for bike trails, Block Island isn't that big- just get on your bike and take off in any direction. To eat cheaply, buy food on the main land and eat lots of picnics. You might also look at Prudence Island too. There are vacation rentals there (google "Prudence Island") and it is smaller- but maybe more of a get away for you.Actually, RI is so much more peaceful than NYC, you don't really need to go to an island- why not just stay around Newport, Bristol, or Wickford for a day or two?
