Braintree on the southside of Boston is nice, and has access to the Red Line on the T
Quincy is closer to the city itself, and also would have red line access.
We drove through Framingham and maybe were on the wrong side of the tracks, but it did not appeal to us at all. I think we printed out houses that happened to be on the south side of town and we didn't get to see the north side of town, which I hear is nicer, before it got dark.

Default neighborhood

Have you looked around Franklin Ma - the T is right there and you can still get to RI in an hour. Nice town. Also Medway Ma, is a nice little town. Good luck!

Not sure if I am too late for this, but Norwood is actually really nice. I am from RI but temporarily living in Norwood. There are some really cute neighborhoods here and a really cute town (Norwood center).
