There's a difference between diversity and prominence. But I don't really want to get into semantics. Bottom line is, I think you're arguing Rhode Island's posession of culture in general, vs. some more uncultured states.

Default Barrington RI

I live in Barrington and highly recommended. I've lived in CA too and although I miss the mountains and the weather I hear you re. crime and traffic - we don't have that here. Instead we have seasons, great skiing close by and beaches everywhere. My kids are in the public school system and are doing great. Email me with questions and if you need a realtor, advice on areas to live in in Barrington.

We are willing to make a move to the east coast for a better living environment. We are looking for a safe community to raise our kids and live the remainder of our lives. I have researched many cities in Mass. and Rhode Isalnd and am drawn to Barrington. We have a home based business that would require us to drive maybe once a week (perhaps Boston area). Any suggestions if Barrington would be a wise choice to live would be greatly appreciated.

If you are going to work on the other side of the bridge beware the traffic can be backed up for miles and miles in the morning. That may change next week when the last lanes are shifted to the new bridge at the 95/195 interchange but it may not also.

Just suggestions but you might also look at parts of Warwick like Pawtuxet Village or East Greenwich, Diamond Hill in Cumberland.

Barrington is a nice place though no doubt about it and real estate is a bargain these days so happy hunting.
