Default Give me the scoop on Portsmouth, North Smithfield, South/North Kingston, Westerly, Warwick, Exeter, Cranston, Greenwich

Narrowing down towns to check out when my husband and I come relo shopping this spring. My dream town is - Hip, Diverse, Middle-Upper Income, Shops, Restaurants. A town where the residents say "I Love It Here." Thank you, Kristi

His job will be located in West Kingston.

If it were me working in West Kingston, I'd look at Newport, Westerly, East Greenwich, although N & W are probably "hipper" than East Greenwich. I'd not drive the freeway to live north- the traffic will be a killer. Stay in what we call "south county". It's not a real county- just the southern end of the state. Wakefield is also in the area- it's small and quaint (at least the historic parts)- worth a look. However, if you must have a big city, there is only one- Providence.

Newport is a good town that fits your description. Seeing as you've posted in the Mass. forum, RI forum, and CT forum a similar question, I would say Newport may be the best option out of all three of the states.

2000-2500sqft Colonials built in the last 5 years or so. Great deals as peole dont want to commute out that far. No much on small stores or places to eat, everything is a little bit of a drive. Safe area, nice newer regional school system. Just off Rt95. What else? What a list of the homes sold in the last 6 months?
Let me know.

Hope I'm not being too nosy, but how much are you willing to spend on a house? Feel free not to answer if it is an inappropriate question.

My first response would be Narragansett.

Hey jpin, I moved to Cranston from Providence 4 years ago, and before that I was in Florida. I love it here too. What are some of the specifics that make Cranston so great for you? (I'm a little surprised, usually I'm the only Floridian who prefers Rhode Island haha)
