As the previous poster says, it would help to know what you're looking for.
If you're an introvert (like me), hate calling people, and think you're going to get a job by sitting at your desk and surfing the job boards (monster.com, careerbuilder.com, etc.), let me tell you -- they are basically a complete waste of time. Job boards work for us ONLY in a booming economy -- right now, every employer is getting flooded with thousands of resumes a day. Each resume doesn't even get looked at by a real person -- just scanned by software, playing buzzword bingo.
You might, however, have better results if you're on LinkedIn. I used that successfully to get a job a few weeks ago, just by networking, finding someone who was looking to hire, and sending them a resume. LinkedIn is one way you can get past HR and find actual hiring managers. HR is your enemy -- and the job boards are all about HR/recruiters. You need to get past HR and get to the person who's going to hire you. (Easier said than done, I know from being out of work most of 2008). Good luck!
