Default Commute Providence - Wellesley, MA?

I'll be living in Providence for a while, and there's a chance that I'll get a job in Wellesley later on. I really like Providence's vibe and would prefer to live there rather than Boston. How bad would this commute be? Would it be any better if I only needed to arrive by 10-10:30am, vs 9am? I'm assuming that the train would be a nightmare and I'd be better off driving, but if there's a way to do it by public transit that would be even better.

Thanks,
AnonProv

Is the job located near one of the train stations in Wellesley? You'd have to change trains in the Back Bay.

I'd say driving would be better. Not "good," just faster and less of a pain than taking two trains. I'd ask the boss -- before you're hired -- how much flexibility you'd have in terms of hours, and if he's willing to let you try an early commute, a late commute, and pick the one that works better, go with that.
