Hey there,

I strongly suggest that you try to have a job set up if at all possible before you move. Cost of living in Rhode Island is considerable and you probably will find it very difficult finding apartments without a job etc.

This is the Providence Journal's jobsite, it might give you some idea.

Good luck.

Rina, When looking for housing in R.I I'm not quite sure the word affordable should be in the same sentence. Anyway stay away from South Providence you can try surrounding towns like North Providence, East Providence, Cumberland,Lincoln or Pawtucket.

I strongly second this advice. Finding a job in Providence can be a chore unless you have some specific skill and know that it is in demand in any place--and in Providence in particular.

You might also get into touch with some of the Temp Agencies to see what they pay and how easily you can be placed as a start up.
