Default License at 19. Question, please help?

Hi, I'm 19 years old and have never proceeded to get my license until now. I was wondering what is the RI State law for this, after I have taken the written test do I need to hold a permit for a certain amount of time? Or can I immediately schedule a road test for the next week or so? Any help would be great, I know the law is different in some states, I just want to know what it is in RI.

try looking here Rhode Island Division of Motor Vehicles :*
I haven't driven a car in 5 years and should be taking the test again in a day or two.

I don't see anything in the regulations that you have to have had your permit for X amount of time before your road test, but why not just call them and ask? (401) 462-4368

Your best bet is to just call the registry, but be very patient. Call them when you have some time, because you'll be on hold for awhile.

I'm reading the dmv manual and it's says: If you reach the age of eighteen before having a Limited Instructional Permit for one year, you may apply for a Full Operator's License.
