Default What's there to do in Newport, RI?

My dh wants to go to Newport for the weekend in the next couple of weeks. What else is there to do there besides visit mansions?

Also, please recommend some good b-n-b's/hotels/eateries.

Thanks.

If you want to mix the mansions with some nature go do the cliffwalk if the weather is good.

Newport, RI's Cliff Walk combines ocean views, mansions, and a rocky shore line into a 3.5 mile walk.

Marie, Check out Newport on Tripadvisor.com to get ratings for hotels and B&Bs. It also has lists of attractions and things to do. Also check the online newspapers like Newport This Week for events.

Hope we can sustain some good sunny weather. Every time I think monsoon season is over, we get hit with another round- it's been a non summer so far this year. However, Spring-like weather is good for walking around.

Hollytree,
Do you have a link to Newport This Week? When I Google it, info about the newspaper comes up, but I can't seem to get a link to the actual newspaper.

I think it's part of the East Bay newspaper website.

Marie, there are so many things to do in Newport! One of my favorite towns to visit. You must visit the Black Pearl, have a drink waterside. Lots of great shops and great places to grab a drink.

I understand there is a brand new adult clothes & toy shop on Thames called Wild Orchid. Anybody been there yet??

I don't need a new rabbit or anything. But perhaps they have an interesting selection of merkins I could peruse?
