Default As a Rhode Islander, how do you pronounce "AUNT"

Looking for answers from people from RI. How do you pronounce "Aunt"?

Do you say it like ant, or with the "au" pronounced like "on" with a soft T

Just curious. I posted this on another board with people from all over, and most were "ant".

Interesting. I'm from MA (albeit from the 'burbs, which homogenize out anything resembling a regional accent), and I pronounce "aunt" like the second syllable of "Nahant." Do they not do that in RI?

'ont'

I noticed we say 'open the draw' as in ---draw-er- drawer. Not draw, like you draw a picture

My aunt in the quiet corner of CT used to lecture me:

An ant is something you step on, she told me.

I haven't lived in RI for 30+ years. I still say "Ont" and "Bubbler"- I know, I technically should say "Bubblah" but after six states its just didn't stick.
