Default Middle School Format?

I Georgia the middle school system in our county is set up for 6-8, most other counties are the same. In Ohio where I went to middle school, the systems are 7-8...the same with New York. How are Rhode Island middle schools set up?

Rhode Island does not operate on a county system. Each city or town operates its own school system.

This is very much liked by people who like micro levels of management and a lot of different approaches and much disliked by those who would like to see more consistency and economies of scale.

I think most are 6-8 however.

In Providence County, mostly it's 6-8 with Lincoln having 7-8. South County varies, can be from 5-8 or 6-8. If you're interested in a particular town, go to rhode-island.schooltree.org

I grew up in South County, depends on where you live, but for me...

1-4 - Peace Dale Elementary
5-6 - Hazard School
7-8 - S.K Jr. High
9-12 - S.K High

Don't know if it still works like that.

That's what my younger son did through 8th grade and he was accepted to LaSalle for high school. My older son went through Msgr Clarke through 8th then went to SKH -- but I looked it up and it's changed. The 2 Jr Highs are no longer just 7/8 grades.
