Carver, Church Hill, Fan, Museum District, Oregon Hill... all seem like they would suit

I lived in the Coronado district for 20 years. Between Central Ave and 24th Street, above Van Buren and Below Indian School, Great area to live. Very near highways, and you're almost always going against traffic so getting to and from work is usually very easy. Housing is relatively cheap in the area, (Though the historic houses have lots of charm but they do run small 800 to 1,200 S.F.) if over 50 years old, housing is eligible for a 50% reduction in property tax. As mentioned earlier, lots of art galleries, Bars and clubs, First Friday is lots of fun, Hit Roosevelt Avenue first and before 8pm or so then hit Grand Avenue unless you are looking to see & be seen, and don't really care about the art, then stay on Roosevelt after 8 there will be several thousand people milling around the area. In the Spring the AZ Ren Fair is one of the largest in the country. If you like classic cars North Scottsdale has a Saturday auto show at the Rock-n-Roll McDonald's that runs pretty much year round except during rain.
