looking to get hd tv and high speed internet (at least 15/5)

both companies offer the "triple play" thing with phone, but i don't need a lan phone, i just want internet and tv.

how much are you paying?

not even going to ask who you recommend, they both have crappy service.

thanks

As you said both suck, I am using Comcast simply because of the customer support. Although it also sucks it is better than Verizon's. I remember when I had Verizon's phone service a few years ago the phone support wasn't open on the weekends, and they closed at certain times when they were open.. it was just awful.

I'm on Verizon FIOS you couldn't pay me to go back to Comcast. I have had no phone issues in 12 years and no TV/Internet issues since I got rid of Comcast.

You speak the truth! I've worked for both Verizon and Comcast and pretty much tell people to pick your poison. You get better picture quality and faster Internet with Verizon, but Comcast offers better support from an agent in the Richmond area.

Email me. I work for Clear, it's the 4 G internet mobile service. I've had both Comcast and Verizon. I can't say anything bad really, but if you can take it with you, why not get that instead of something you leave at home?

So true. Talking about TV service, be it Comcast, Verizon, DirecTV, or Dish, brings out the worst in people.

I have Fios and am very pleased with it. Internet is fast, land line works great and TV picture is crystal clear. I have had the package for over two years and have never had to seek customer support so I can't say how good or bad they are. We pay about $140 a month but that includes all taxes and other charges. They offer a $99 dollar special, but there are all sorts of taxes and additional charges. Make sure you ask what the final bill will be before making a decision. It is not inexpensive, but I am happy with it. I have not used Comcast and cannot offer an opinion.

Sorry to revive an old thread. I live in an apartment complex in the far West End (Tuckahoe) that offers Verizon FIOS, Comcast cable internet, and Verizon DSL. I chose Comcast because the 15MB service was only $30 for 6 months as part of a promo (non cable TV price), before reverting to a regular price of $50.

Unfortunately, my internet service drops every few minutes. Pages will fail to load, my instant messenger will disconnect and reconnect, and Google Maps will hang.

Anyone else experiencing these problems? If it's just me, I'll get Comcast to fix the issue. If it's pretty common, I better switch to DSL or FIOS fast.
