I came home to find my master bedroom flooded. I called the property manager & maintenance came out. The guy who came said the pipe was never capped off & that the flood must have started when they watered the lawn earlier that day (sad to think the lawn has only been watered once in 2 years). I asked him "so you are saying i am hooked up to the outside water lines?" He replied "as of now you not". It is only my husband, 5 year old and myself but for the last 2 years i have got a water bill for around $70/MONTH. We have a 2 bedroom apartment, nobody is there from 7-5:30. The owner of the building lived in our unit for years before we moved in and i can't help but think they had the lines billed to her (now our unit) & never changed it when we moved in. I have brought the water bill to their attention on a number of occasions over the past 2 years. When i brought up what i was told they said i must have misunderstood. There is no reason i should be getting such an outrageous water bills monthly. What can i do?
