Hello. We have just starting researching private school in Richmond area as well. Mostly due to the problem that our older child's current elementary school goes to 4th grade only and the public schools in Richmond go to 5th (so would have to change schools for one year and then change again to go to middle). We are thinking it might be beneficial to just do private school until H.S. We already are familiar with St. Catherine's/St Christophers, but have just learned of the Millwood School. Any thoughts on this and/or personal experiences out there? It certainly costs a lot less than I was expecting/comparably. Thanks again for any input.

Have you looked at Trinity or St. Michaels? Both on Southside. If you're not tied to SS, you should also look at Steward and Collegiate. You have a lot of choices, it just depends what you're looking for. Millwood is relatively new (23 years), I've never known anyone who sent their kids there. Sorry!

Hi, Jilly,
Did you ever decide on what to do? My children attend Millwood (jk-12 secular school -- the only one in chesterfield co). The kids are taught it's cool to be smart. We just love it and so do our children. They do tours daily, if you are still looking. Best to you.
