Is it harder to find a job if you are from the "North?"
I know this has been asked in many different ways and I know that if you are an obvnoxious northerner you will be treated in kind. We lived for a year in NC and 3 in FL and I like the South.
However, I just want to bluntly ask people's opinions on the job factor. Is it harder to get a job in Richmond if you are from the North? I am asking about the broader opportunities. I understand, just like anywhere, a certain amount of people will have their prejudices no matter what.
Thanks for the input.

This is purely my own personal opinion. I was born in NY and raised in PA. I went into the military and was stationed @ Ft. Bragg, NC, from there I went to Asheville, NC and then on to Boone, NC. Except for some small teasing about being a yankee, I never, ever felt anything but love from people around me. While living in Asheville I got a security guard job that many, many local people had applied for. Had they been more experienced they may have got the job over me, but I was the most qualified for the position. I assume that you will be looking for work at a large place? I can almost all but guarantee that not everyone that works there is from Richmond. Other than geographically I do not think that there is any difference between the North and the South.

Also I should mention that since living in NC I now live in Dallas. I recently got a job in Richmond and will be moving there over the next few weeks. Qualifications and experience will land you a job, regardless of where you were born/raised.
