We are looking at a beautiful house on Graham St but want to make sure the area is safe, read earlier reports, has anything changed in the past few years? Is the crime bad in the area?

Thanks!

It's close to some housing projects I believe. Don't know much about it other than that.

It's very much in transition. Some areas are nice. Some not so nice.

Closer to the park is better (actually overlooking the park is best and is quite nice).

It's changing rapidly for the better.
A house overlooking the park was listed for ~250k last month and is now under contract (though I don't know the exact selling price at the moment). That price point in the Battery Park neighborhood was practically unheard of 5 years ago [or last year to be exact]).

I don't know much about Graham but driving through the area, I found the North-to-South streets were nicer than the East-to-West streets (no idea why). As a general border, East of Fendall Ave seemed nicer and south of Brookland park boulevard.

If I had to rank the streets (just my personal opinion):
1. Hawthorne Ave.
2. Dupont Circle.
3. Noble Ave.
4. Moss Side Ave
5. Edgewood Ave
6. Edgehill Rd.

Would I move there? Absolutely. Would I move there with a family? Probably not.
