King William/New Kent..what do you think? (Richmond: new home, purchase)

Hi..What kind of area is King William and New Kent? Safe?..I read about rapes in Kew Kent..Anyone have info please. We don't have children in school, so we don't need the info on that. Anything else would be appreciated.

I have friends that live in King William. Area is great and pretty central to a lot of stuff, but still rural. Also land prices were pretty good but they did purchase several years ago.

new kent is about as safe as one can get in the richmond area, it is growing fast,new homes popping up, a vineyard,a race track. it is still rural and close enough to richmond /williamsburg to be convenient

My parents used to live in New Kent. It is about 25 miles east of Richmond. I consider that the "country". There is nothing out there, so I am surprised that something like a rape could have happened.
