Don't think I'm too ignorant Since we're coming from overseas and evaluating our budget, some info would be really helpful.

What is the cost of heating oil right now?
What is an average electric bill on a 2000 sq. ft. house?
Oil cost for the year?
Water & Sewer?
Car insurance (on a minivan, let's say 3-5 years old)?
Gas at the pump right now?

Wish I could help more, but all I can tell you that the gas I have seen by the airport is $2.04-$2.06 per gallon. It was $1.98 last week.
Electric bill, well mine is around 300, but I have a bit more house than you specified.
I have GMAC Insurance, and a couple year old minivan should be tolerable, especially if there is no leinholder.
