Is the area south of Ellwood closer to the expressway and the parkway end of town considered Carytown and is it an area that is not particularly walkable to things?

I don't understand where you are referring to, precisely, but carytown is very walkable - the most walkable area in Richmond

Yes it is considered Carytown and yes it's walkable, on average you are within 1-2 blocks of Cary Street where the stores are located. You aren't referring to the area south of the downtown expressway are you?

Actually the Triangle between the Expressways may soon be VERY walkable, if Fulton hill properties ever has their way.
