Looks like that storm is heading directly for us?
Tropical Storm Joaquin
Is everyone preparing?

My fear is the eighty foot tall oaks around my house!
(Lots of em)

With the ground already saturated, some "experts" are saying that even if we don't get hit directly with the storm, we could get almost a foot of rain and it wouldn't take a lot of wind to knock down these shallow rooted oak trees!

Be safe everyone!

I had a one week old when Isabel came through and we had no water for a while. I think it's too early to know what Joaquin will do but it's always smart to have bottled water in the house.

One of the radio station had a FB post the Jim Cantore was just spotted at a Wall-Mart in Virginia Beach. Kinda surprised he came here versus the OBX.

I sure don't want to run into him at Walmart--never a good sign.

so true...very funny! I was just watching weather report and seems Richmond (central Virginia) will get a lot of rain, but not a direct hit from the storm. Saw videos of Roanoke and, they are completely flooded already...not sure why that would be? Take care, everyone!
