Hi folks, I haven't visited here for about a year, so I hope I am not asking something that has been answered recently (haven't checked the forums). Can you tell me where in the greater RVA area (Richmond, Short Pump, Ashland, Mechanicsville, Chester/Chesterfield, etc) do you find a good number of single level condos, or two-level townhouses (upstairs/downstairs)? And which ones could you see yourself living in, and which ones would you avoid? I'll leave the criteria of what you consider "livable" open to each person's interpretation, otherwise this will become another post that ends up with people arguing over definitions. Not interested however, in apartment rentals. That will be for another day. I guess there has to be certain basic guidelines, so here they are: solo living so 1 or 2 bedrooms are plenty; no pets; no children; not interested in school districts. Just want to get a feeling for which areas in the greater metropolitan city has these.

Fan/Museum district, most of the heart of the city.

Barring the city, anywhere in the usual areas seem to have a lot

Check out Chesterfield County. There are some older condos in Bon Air and many newer ones in Midlothian and Brandermill, especially along the 288 corridor. Older one are priced in the lower $100K's, and newer ones around $200K.

Short Pump probably has then also, but it is more expensive there. I just prefer Chesterfield County. Mechanicsville has then, but I find it lacking in amenities. Ashland is more of a single family home area, too far out to have condos.
