I've lived here 3 years and find the people to be snobbish. I usually make friends easily, but not here.

I am from the Triple D (Dallas, Texas) strong possibility I will be relocating to Richmond Va for a well paying job in Chester, Va I am 23 and black I am an old soul trapped in a young body. I am researching on many things trying to prepare myself for this big move because I will be on my own. What are the black strip clubs and black clubs located. Where are music studios located???? Where do my people hang out and live???????? I heard Northeast, East, and South Richmond are rough areas if its anything like my city Ill be fine dont get no worse than coming out of the hoods in Dallas Texas. But I want to know from the people that live there.

My two cents: Richmond is a great city for singles college-aged, and in their 20s and early 30s. Once you hit your mid-30s though, you start to look and feel older than most of the nightlife crowd or singles scene. I can see Richmond being a paradise for a single person around 25 years old, but once you're 35 years old, the young'uns are going to start ignoring you and you'll start to wonder why everyone in the bars looks so much younger than you.

Don't get me wrong, there's definitely a niche group of professional singles in their mid-30s and up, but Richmond is a young person's city when it comes to being single. It's not like DC, where tons of people are single at age 35.
