Why not the Libbie and Grove area of Richmond? There are restaurants, a theatre, good shopping all within walking distance to the surrounding neighborhoods. Private schools would probably be necessary if that is the choice you made.

robr....we may be moving northern ma....we should trade houses...lol...we live in kingsmill in williamsburg....its on the water (james) resort living ....a somewhat pricey area......you can check out their website...there is so much info...we raised 2 children here and they arecurrently attending great colleges...it's about a 45 min to 1 hour commute to richmond depending on where in richmond...kingsmill is southern james city county but easy access to the interstate so can take less time than some northern areas.
