Hello, folks. I watched the Weather Channel over the weekend, but they seemed to concentrate their reports and photos on North Carolina. I thought the Weather Chanel said that Richmond, VA, received 8+ inches of snow. Really? I saw one photo of someone's backyard in Powhatan with a really hefty amount of snow collecting on their outdoor furniture, but that was all that I could find. Maybe I didn't use the right search terms. Were the schools and the government closed today (Monday)? Thanks!!

Just curious, are the schools closed in all of these areas? We are planning a move to RVA in the next 6 months and are excited about seasons and kids excited about the occasional “snow day”. (From Bay Area, CA...)

Richmond City, Henrico County, and Chesterfield County Schools are closed today and were closed Monday and Tuesday as well. Those jurisdictions include all of the previously mentioned areas.

Thanks for chiming in with snow totals from different parts of the metro. Well, you really did get snow.

You all were so quiet about it, and with Jim Cantore not putting in an appearance in Richmond (), I thought for sure you all never really got that much.

I'm trying to make a comparison between Northern VA and Richmond, VA, winters. We got snow in November 2018, but you all didn't. You all got snow just recently, but we did not. Lord, I hope that it's for the freezing precipitation for both of us. A girl can dream, right?

Thanks again, folks, for the info!
