Not my opinion of course and CD may say this is competition for this site and remove this but people looking for info on Richmond may find this useful.

I know the overall city well enough but not the individual neighborhoods to say one way or the other. It's been several years since I spent some time in Carytown and I failed to see the hype but maybe I just did not see enough.

Hey there! I am a Realtor here in RVA and we have TONS of great neighborhoods and it really depends on what one is looking for. If you want a high walkability score then places like The Fan would likely be on your list. If you want an active community with tons of mature trees then Salisbury may be your jam. The West End, with places such as Glen Allen, offers a ton of entertainment, dining, and shopping options while Goochland and Powhatan counties would offer more rural living.

I don't know why people are so hype on Scotts Addition, the breweries are just meh, most of them seem to close early-ish, hardly nightlife I'd say.

Shockoe's nightlife is actually nightlife.

If the list leaves out the Fan and Museum District, the list is silly. But their are lot's of good neighborhoods in Richmond
