Default Job at Fort Lee

Hello'I just got a position at Fort Lee and I'm planning on moving there in july. I'm looking for an apt in the surrounding area. I was told to look into Petersburg, Colonial Heights, Chester and Prince George. I was looking for a price between 600-700 a month. What's some of the nice apts with a resonable price. I really don't want to be in a bad area and don't want to be in an rural area, I want to be close to shopping, eating, etc... Any info would be helpful thank you.

Hi Slim and welcome to the area! We just relocated to Chesterfield County when my husband got on at Ft. Lee also (transfered in from NoVA). Let me do some snooping around and I'll see what I can find for you.

Welcome to the area!

There are a few apartments that you might want to look into in Petersburg. Both are within 5 minutes of Ft. Lee. The newest ones are the Mayton Transfer Lofts. You can find the website if you google. I've been in them and they're really nice and run between 650-800ish, if I remember correctly. They have both one and two bedroom apartments. They're in a nice area, very walkable, near restaurants, etc. The South Street Lofts are nice also but the area is a bit more sketchy. I haven't been inside them but they look nice in the photos I've seen. Both of these apartment complexes are located in renovated historic buildings.

not sure if you have moved to fort lee area yet. but i do know that petersburg is not a good area to move to. Although i do know colonial heights is close to EVERYTHING! the mall is there, lots of places to eat, etc. Hopewell is also a nice area and is pretty close as well.
