Default Looking for Apartments near Richmond and Petersburg

Hi, I'm moving to the Richmond area next weekend and plan on looking for an apartment this weekend. Got a job in Petersburg (which looks like a rough area) and I'd like to know if anyone has any suggestions as to nice places to live that aren't too far from Petersburg and Richmond. Some people at work suggested Chester. Are there any other good areas that have apartments in the $650-850 range?

There is an apartment community right off of the intersection of Route 10 and I295. Not sure of the name though. If you are coming off of 95 or 295, take Route 10 East towards Hopewell. I know you will take a right turn, and I think it is at a light, but for the life of me I don't know the name of the road. Anyway, if you reach the Enon Volunteer Fire Department, you missed it. Just turn around and you can see the apartments heading back west on Rt. 10 (it's just that now they will be on the left) and there is even a billboard that tells you to take the next left.

Hope this helps.

There are a few apartments that you might want to look into in Petersburg (which isn't as scary as it seems). The newest ones are the Mayton Transfer Lofts. You can find the website if you google. I've been in them and they're really nice and should be in your price range. They're in a nice area, very walkable. The South Street Lofts are nice also but the area is a bit more sketchy.

With gas prices what they are, I'd seriously consider Pburg. I love it here!

There are other new developments in renovated warehouses now, in addition to Mayton Transfer Lofts and South Street Lofts. dunlop St Lofts is new, and the OddFellows Building will have units available in Summer 2009. Google Dunlop St Lofts, and rentpetersburg.com is for OddFellows. We live in Old Towne and have a store here. We love the community, neighbors, being able to walk to restaurants, stores, antique mall. We are retired military so it's nice to be so close to Ft Lee. Richmond is 21 miles N on I95. Hope this info helps. Can visit Old Towne Petersburg VA - shop, dine, antique in quaint renovated area off I95 exit 52 for event info and a better feeling for what goes on in Old Towne.

Default Housing in Petersburg

I may be prejudiced, but I own a two story, two bedroom one and a half bath house with a park-like front and back yard in Petersburg. I have had satisfied renters for years. The house I own is old, but there are more recent homes and new homes on the block.

Good luck in your search!!
