Hey! Chesterfield Berry Farm, Ashland Berry Farm, Mary Munford playground, pool at ACAC, the fountain at Stony Point Fashion Park... Those are hard ages! Good luck. Hope this helps some!

My daughter is always looking for "an adventure" so I am always looking for little fun things to do that aren't necessarily all day events.
I'll second the Stony Point Fountains - My almost 3yo loves it there. Chesterfield Town Center offers "club mom" once a month Chesterfield Towne Center | Events Calendar .
Short Pump Mall has the trains and fun koi ponds to look at.
Tom Leonards Farmers Market is a fun spot to do some grocery shopping.
Pretend Town is new and really nice and great for the 5 and under set - they also have free coffee and wifi. Pretend Town
In that same neck of the woods is Rockwood Park that has a nice little nature center with lots of little hands on things to touch and feel.
Chat and Play cafe is popular with some of my friends - it is out by Woodlake in Chesterfield, so that might be a bit far. Page 1
More than once we have spent an hour or so at the Richmond SPCA visiting the cats and dogs.

Are Chesterfield Berry Farm and Ashland berry farms, farms where you pick berries? If so, what berries do they have...is it still strawberry season in VA? We love going berry picking here in up-state ny.

Also what is the ACAC pool? No one answered my august pool question....is this one we could visit without being members?

No. ACAC is a fitness club in Chesterfield County that has a pool.

Was up at Westmoreland Berry Farm two weeks ago and they were saying strawberry season was nearly over. Both farms you mentioned have 'pick your own.'

Where to find pick your own farms and orchards in Virginia for fruit, vegetables, pumpkins and Christmas trees.

ACAC doesn't have "summer only" memberships but Robious Sports and Fitness does (until July 15th) but it might be a little far (20 minutes) if you are near U of R. Have you looked at the YMCA on Patterson. That is supposed to be a popular Y and I know the one in Chesterfield has summer memberships.

Blackberry seaon is starting this month!

Also, the farms typically have small animals, hayrides, etc.

Sorry about the ACAC comment. I didn't think about you being new. It is membership only but someone mentioned Robious. They have a nice little area for kiddies and summer membership.

If you want to ride a pony, you may want to call one of the stables around to see if they know anyone who will accomodate. Keswick Farms, Swift Creek (Goochland), Level Green.

Best of luck!
