Default New job in hopewell, wife prefers bigger city

That is my dilema, need recommendations on areas on the east/Southeast side of Richmond so we know how to reduce the housing search parameters. Daughter is Junior in HS, strong in math and science, High school recommendations? Local Colleges with strong engineering programs? Can you recommend website to look/see about things to do in Greater Richmond?

Thanks in advance

Check out the Chester/Enon area. You can be to Hopewell in about ten minutes, have a good Chesterfield County (Chesterfield County Public Schools) high school (normally Thomas Dale, just depends on home location) and your wife has all of the modern conveniences of Richmond. If you want more specific information as to subdivisions, give us a better idea on price range and the Board may be able to give other recommendations.

Engineering programs... Well, I may be biased, but Virginia Tech (3 1/2 - 4 hour drive)has an Engineering College within the university. I think University of Virginia does (1 1/2 - 2 hour drive) and pretty certain I heard Old Dominion University (1-2 hour drive) started one recently.

Hope that helps!

We lived in Chester. Recently moved. Larger area, still with small town feel. If you have questions, you can contact me. We loved the schools that our children went to.

Schools should be good but also meet your needs, I went to a Chesterfield school and there were kids who excelled in math and science and had to drive to local colleges to take more advanced courses beyond the normal AP offerings in HS. Lots of them went on to VA Tech for engineering and are doing well for themselves these days.
