Default SWF, 31 yrs old. Where to live in Richmond?

SWF, 31 years old. Where to live?

I am moving to Richmond in the next few months and am not sure where to live. My parents live in the Fan and my sister lives in Midlothian. I am coming from the DC/NOVA area and while I know Richmond is not as "busy," I am looking for a fun, young professional area. I enjoy going out on the weekends to bars/restaurants, live music, etc., and would like to hang out with people closer to my age group (not students).

Job: I am in pharm sales, so location does not matter as far as traffic. I've been told that the Westend maybe a good area to reside? My family just moved to Richmond about a year ago and they are not sure what to recommend. I've hung out in the Fan quite a few times, but it just seems like families and VCU students...???

Realtors: I will be renting for a few months to a year (1-3 bdr. condo, max $1,500). Must accept pets 8 lb dog.

Default Anyone else?

I've heard downtown is turning around. Any good suggestions of specific areas to live? Also, any other comments would be greatly appreciated.

There are some incredible condos if you choose to go that route.

i'd get a place in the fan or museum district... you can find really awesome apartments with a rooftop patio or a nice yard (dog)... live close enough to walk to Byrd park (which is enormous)... carytown shops and restaurants and bars on main and robinson... all within walking distance (3-5 blocks)
