My husband wants to apply for a promotion from his job and he want to know about diversity in Richmond or Virgina Beach. He is Puerto Rican last name is Rodriguez. His issue is that he heard that there isn't much diverstiy in the area. He just wants to make sure our 2 kids and I are safe. Just to let you know I am white from Louisiana. He speaks perfect english not even a spanish accent and has light skin. We moved to Atlanta from florida and he had the same mis-conception about Atlanta also. But he won't apply until I get a answer that we will be ok.

I'll send you a DM, but we've found Short Pump very welcoming.

You will not have a problem in Richmond at all. I feel the Midlothian area of chesterfield is very diverse and feel that would be a great place for you two to raise a family. Great schools.. fairly priced homes.. safe.. and diverse. Check out the Woodlake, or Brandermill neighborhoods. Good Luck!!

You and your family will feel very safe in the suburbs of Richmond. There is some diversity but there are hardly any Puerto Ricans here. The Spanish people that are here are mostly Mexican. If that doesn't matter to you then you will be fine.
