Cool Good place for a person with RA?

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and i am considering relocating to Richmond from Western NY. I am wondering if Richmond would be a good place, weather-wise. How cold does it get from November until March/April? How is the the humidity?

The winters are not so bad. The summer humidity is oppressive, though.

It snows in Richmond. I'd go further south, to NC perhaps.

Snow doesn't concern me too much. It's just the cold. Oppressive humidity may be a problem, especially for my German Shepherd.

Monthly Averages for Richmond, VA

I have to say that it is generally very humid here during the summer. My dogs are out to do what they need to do and right back in from mid June to mid September.

We lived in Cary NC (near Raleigh) and I haven't found much of a difference in the winter weather.
