Mekong is good for Vietnamese. What do you think about the Carytown thai restaurants? We frequent those the most since they are walking distance.

I use to go to Mekong before I found Pho So 1. At Mekong, you are really just paying for the environment. I personally think the food is rather overpriced and bland. I like Pho because I can get in and out quick, have a very tasty meal and it's not too expensive. It's way better than Mekong. I will never go back to Mekong.

Thai Diner 2 is probably the best Thai place in Carytown. It's a little more oily and pricey than what I typically go for. If you get a chance to go out to the Midlothian area, check out the Thai place I listed.

I'd also like to add "China Star" to the list. They are on Cox Rd in the West End. Very friendly, and serve real Chinese Food, ask for the Chinese menu.

At my house, my wife's Chinese. We rarely go out to eat.

Not that China Star isn't bad and Fu-Kee isn't bad for Dimsum, but, my her cooking is the same as being in Beijing or Shenyang. She cooks Northern Chinese food.
