What do you mean by "country French?" The closest thing to a "country French" restaurant I can think of is L'Auberge Chez Francois in Great Falls, Virginia, beyond Tysons Corner.

Closer to Richmond there's Chez Max (in a strip center on the West End at Patterson and Pump) which is cozy and polite (but not "formal"), and serves some classics and some game dishes. And a a little over an hour outside of Richmond, there's La Yaca in Williamsburg and Pomme in Gordonsville, both of which are excellent and have nice-casual atmospheres, but are more classical (or nouvelle) than du terroir.
